We (by we, I mean my lovely wife and me) thought long and hard about what would be our first post for this unique endeavor. And after a spirited exchange of ideas, we thought why not take it back to the roots. So here we go...
For us, it's been a beautiful journey of many paths, people, and projects. But the one constant in our lives and what we can say has kept us both together (and makes us happy) is our unyielding promise to ourselves...save the world.
Okay, I know it sounds like a tall order, but in the words of Mark Twain.
"TWENTY YEARS FROM NOW YOU WILL BE MORE DISAPPOINTED BY THE THINGS THAT YOU DIDN'T DO THAN BY THE ONES YOU DID..."
We'd be remiss if we didn't try. You could say we've been a pair of sword-fighting heroes going against overwhelming odds to make the world a better place while remaining devoted to just being ourselves—authentic, diverse, interesting, and adventurously frugal.
This mission (which we accepted a long time ago) has led us from very humble beginnings as the children of Caribbean immigrants to launching and successfully managing a myriad of organizations, businesses, and projects.
Whether we are experiencing the joy our successes or the pain of setbacks, it is the acts of giving, the acts of kindness, and the acts of compassion displayed by so many along the way that has made and left a lasting impression on us. The stories are endless and uplifting.
With this endeavor, our aim is to encourage, support, and facilitate Next Generation Storytelling through equipment and products at affordable prices that help smartphone filmmakers, phoneographers, and mobile journalist alike achieve their artistic and narrative visions.
The following short documentary, “The Painter of Jalouzi,” is a remarkable example of the amazing stories being told through smartphones and personal mobile devices today. We invite you to take a look at the “Behind the scenes” footage to see the extraordinary imagery shot exclusively with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus’ 4K camera.
"The Painter of Jalouzi" was filmed by the dynamic duo of David Darg, and Bryn Mooser who tell the incredible story of Duval, who lives in one of the biggest slums in Haiti. He paints and inspires his neighbors to paint through his beautiful ranges of color he uses on busses or walls or cinder block fences.
At last, the crescendo. Fone Rigs+ is a culmination of our passion, our experiences, and our continued effort to defy and beat the odds in support of those who tell these amazing stories of hope, of change, of truth, and of living. That's our story!
